Asset Library Area
1. Menu Bar
- Files - Currently only has the ICONIFY option to minimize the Plumber UI Window.
- Scripts - This is a cascading menu of mel script calls that the user creates. This is one way to integrate your own tools into the Plumber system. Each show has it’s own scripts repository, so you may customize your script set depending on what the needs of the show are.
- Tools - Consists of Preferences and Posemaster. The Preferences for Plumber are set here to control the workflow and UI of Plumber. Posemaster is a Pose Library tool that can be used to snapshot attributes from any maya object for later use – the primary function is to save poses on rigged characters.
- Help - The version of Plumber that is being run.
2. Module Selector Tab
- Allows the user to choose between the Shots based UI and tools, or the Asset based UI tools.
3. Asset Type Selector
- Determines which Asset Type will be use for the Asset Library Browser and Asset Editor areas.
4. Asset Browser List
- Lists the Assets of the selected Asset Type that are available for the specific Plumber Show.
5. Add To Scene Button
- References the currently selected Asset into the present Maya Session according to the Import Settings chosen (See #6)
6. Import Settings
- Number of Copies – The number of instanced of the current Asset that will be brought in. Each copy will be given the namespace from the Add to Scene As entry (see below), with a sequential number appended.

7. Update List Button
- Refreshes the Current Assets List to reflect the current Maya session (see #8 below).

- Lists the current Assets of all Types loaded in the current Maya session. Set Assets are listed as the name of the Set. Individual Set members are not noted here.

- Unloads and removes the Asset selected in the Current Assets List from the current Maya session.

- <-BACK-< - When IMAGES is selected, and there is more than one Reference Image for the current Asset Component, this button displays the previous Reference Image.
- IMAGES/NOTES – When this button displays the text “NOTES,” this button toggles the display from Reference Images, to Component Version Notes. “IMAGES” has the opposite effect.
- >-NEXT-> - When IMAGES is selected, and there are more than one Reference Image for the current Asset Component, this button displays the next Reference Image.

14. Level of Detail (LOD) Area
- Current LOD Selector - Allows the user to chose the active LOD choice for Asset Editing. When changed, the Asset Editor updates the Component listings, Reference Images and Notes to those for the selected LOD.
- Add LOD Button – Allows the user to add a named LOD for Asset Editing. It does not become the active LOD.

16. Asset Editor Command Buttons
Edit Version – Loads the active Component Version in the current Maya session. If there is only Version 000, Plumber initiates the active Component. The Model, Puppet or Surface Component is either imported of referenced as per the Workflow dictated by the Show Preferences. Preferences are set using the Plumber Preferences UI.
- Commit Version – “Commits” a new Version of the Active Component in the Plumber Repository. The user is prompted for Notes, which are required. If this Component has not been Committed before, the user is prompted to choose the object from a list in Maya to Commit. Only one hierarchical tree may be Committed as a Component.
